Certain dates on the calendar arrive that are traditionally associated with Christmas, but they also mark the end of the year, the change of season, and climatic conditions that vary depending on where in the world we are.
Where are you? What is your perspective on this time of year? These are some of the questions posed in the open call for this Vol. 8 · Special Edition.
A volume that breaks away from the usual aesthetic and rhythm of creAtIva AI Art Book to move toward something far more direct and personal. 32 AI artists have contributed their vision of Christmas as one of the most widely celebrated moments of December on a global scale.
In Vol. 8 · Christmas Time, you will find not only an image, but also its title, authorship, and the narrative accompanying each proposal. In addition, we have embraced text-to-speech integration in collaboration with Voice Powered AI. Thanks to this partnership, each artist has a QR code that you can scan to listen to their narrative in both Spanish and English while viewing the image.
The English voice has been provided by Stewart Rogers, and thanks to Voice Powered AI’s voice-cloning technology, it has been reproduced in English as well.
Likewise, thanks to the mediation of Marta Velázquez, a creAtIva collaborator, this volume includes an article by Eva Astorga entitled: “Grinch or Santa Claus? The State of the Art of Generative AI and the Visual Arts in Europe in 2025”, a brief retrospective of the year we leave behind, approached from a critical and contextual perspective.
Enjoy this unique and special volume, which closes the year through multiple viewpoints and sensibilities.
We set aside our usual perspective to immerse ourselves fully in the end of the year and its festivities. In this volume, 32 AI artists share their personal vision through a single image. It may be beautiful or unsettling; it may reveal their love for — or rejection of — the Christmas season. Others focus on different symbols associated with this time of year: the turning of the calendar, the arrival of winter, cold or warmth… Where in the world is the artist located?
Once again, we are committed to making creAtIva an interactive experience that goes beyond its pages, seeking a true synergy between the physical and the digital. For this reason, we have decided to incorporate voice.
